Description

This adaptogenic turmeric latte mix is the perfect winter or bedtime elixir. Made with healing spices, medicinal mushrooms and herbs that help us to adapt to stress better is it delicious made with your favourite milk and healthy fats.

Ingredients

Scale
  1. For the latte mix
  • 1 cup turmeric powder
  • 1/4 cup ground ginger
  • 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 Tbsp powdered cordyceps
  • 1 tsp ground cardamom
  • 2 Tbsp maca powder

For the turmeric latte

  • 1 tsp latte mix (above)
  • 250ml (1 cup) boxed coconut milk
  • 1 Tbsp ghee, coconut oil, mct oil, coconut butter or cacao butter
  • 1 tsp rapadura sugar

Instructions

For the latte mix

  1. Add everything to a mixing bowl and whisk until completely uniform. Store in an airtight container in the pantry.

For the turmeric latte

  1. Add all ingredients to a small saucepan and heat over a medium flame until around 60 C. You do not want to reach boiling or simmering, but instead you will begin to see the surface of the milk just starting to steam, shimmer and move around.
  2. Take off the heat. Use a stick blender to froth. Taste, add extra sweetener if desired then enjoy immediatly.
  3. Alternatively (if you have a milk frother) melt ghee and pour into a cup with turmeric latte mix and sugar. Mix well. Heat milk in jug and pour into cup. Give it a good stir, then enjoy.

Notes

  • You can use whatever milk you prefer but I find the best flavour is with coconut milk.
  • Use whatever fat you prefer. I like this recipe the most with ghee.
